Event Update

Dear 2017 Fort Collins Children’s Triathlon/Duathlon and Family Fun Runners,

Thank you so much for signing up to participate in this year’s event. We love putting on our children’s event because we know successful kids overcome obstacles and achieve their goals! This year’s event is still on but will change due to the weather and our desire to keep your child’s safety close to our hearts. We are canceling the swim and bike portions due to both air temperatures and road safety (possible slush/trees/deep puddles) yet are adding an obstacle course inside of our gym after the run. Here are the details:

Tonight:

Duathletes and Triathletes are invited to still pick up your packets, attend the dinner and race meeting between 5PM and 6:30PM.

Tomorrow:

The race will begin at 10:00AM with a Fun Run for all participants. Registration for runners will open at 9:30AM. It will be at the front of O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary School at 312 Princeton Road. To keep you active, we are hoping you will consider running two to three laps instead of just one and then enter the building for the obstacle course in the gym, followed by breakfast in our library. We will be having our volunteers create a line to keep kids safe in the obstacle course… Feel free to jump in the line again if you want another go!

We will have prize drawings and a closing around 11:00ish with the obstacle course closing shortly thereafter. Thank you so much for joining us and for your patience as we try to make our event safe, fun, and active for our participants!

Thank you so much,

Race Staff

Registration for All Events is now open on active.com!

Triathlon is May 20, 2017 - 7:00 A.M.

Because successful kids overcome obstacles and achieve their goals!

Challenge by Choice

Challenge by choice means that everyone can choose the challenge that is most appropriate for them.  For example, we have one participant who is a Level 1 swimmer but a Level 3 cyclist and runner, so those are the levels that he is choosing to participate in.  We want everyone to feel comfortable with their race level, so you pick the plan that fits your abilities best.  Feel free to mix and match for the different elements.  There's no need to ask race staff for permission, just choose the levels that are right for you!

We remind you that the only competition with this race is with yourself.  Our intention is to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy this sport that we love.  We are not officially timing this event, but you are welcome to keep track of your own time.  A clock will be started with the Level 3 swimmers that you can see as you cross the finish line for an approximation of your time.
